Job summary

George Mason University in Fairfax, VA is hiring a Clinic Nurse in University Life to support healthcare providers by delivering ambulatory nursing care, triage, immunizations, wound care, and medication administration in the SHS clinic.

The Nurse will ensure safe patient flow, participate in quality improvement, and collaborate with physicians and staff. Requires RN license, BLS, and 2+ years ambulatory care. On-site role with occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited diploma, ASN or BSN program.
• Valid Virginia or multi-state RN license at time of hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Experience typically obtained in 2+ years as an RN in a healthcare setting.
• Ambulatory or acute care nursing experience.
• Knowledge of adult ambulatory care and college student needs.
• Knowledge of immunization requirements and EHR.
• Ability to apply nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing, evaluating.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasional evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in required clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ambulatory nursing care and ensure safe patient flow.
• Provide immunizations, wound care, and medication administration.
• Perform phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing.
• Triage students and manage acute appointments per protocols.
• Maintain EMR documentation and nurse order monitoring.
• Mentor BSN students and new hires; participate in committees.
