Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks an AM Design Engineer to embed with product design teams and apply AM design principles for LPBF parts using 3DXpert and NX. The role centers on creating manufacturable, cost-effective geometries while supporting prototyping, fixtures, and tooling via FDM.

The position emphasizes collaboration with Materials and Process teams to accelerate parameter development and process optimization, driving design quality and manufacturability across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of design engineering experience; LPBF AM exposure preferred.
• Proficiency in NX (preferred) or similar 3D CAD software; familiarity with AM tools.

Responsibilities

• Apply DfAM rules to optimize LPBF parts.
• Collaborate on part orientation, supports, and manufacturability reviews.
• Develop and iterate test geometries with AM Materials and AM Process teams.
