Job summary

CMI Group in Tempe, AZ, seeks a Quality Manager to lead the quality function for a multisite defense/aerospace manufacturing operation. You will set quality strategy, ensure AS9100 and NADCAP compliance, drive COPQ reductions, and serve as the primary contact for customer and supplier quality matters.

The role requires daily on-site presence at the Tempe facility and hands-on leadership of Quality Engineers, Inspectors, CMM technicans and programmers to support site objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or quality management.
• 10+ years leading a Quality department in defense/aerospace.
• Experience with AS9100 audits (Rev. D), ITAR/EAR compliance, and FAA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the strategic direction for the Quality department.
• Develop initiatives to reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ).
• Lead customer quality problem-solving using FMEA, 8D, and SPC.
• Maintain AS9100 certification and NADCAP requirements.
• Direct inspection operations and coordinate supplier quality activities.
• Oversee MRB & RCCA processes and drive corrective actions.
