Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX business unit, is seeking a Quality Technical Inspector onsite in Middletown, PA. The role focuses on real-time part and process inspection to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements.

You will serve as the first line of defense against defects, assisting operators in maintaining process control and supporting containment when nonconformances are detected. Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. GED in the US) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Perform real-time inspection of parts and processes on the production floor to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Act as the first line of defense against defects and help prevent escapes by identifying issues early and supporting operators in maintaining process control.
• Support operations via inspection of production hardware and over-inspection.
• Conduct in-process inspections at designated production intervals using approved methods; verify conformance to blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Perform dimensional checks using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators).
• Inspect surface finish, weld quality, coating, or other specific characteristics; perform visual inspections for defects or nonconforming conditions.
• Record inspection results accurately in quality systems or logs; maintain traceability of parts, materials, and inspection records.
• Provide real-time feedback to operators, clarify inspection requirements, and collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues.
