Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Engine Services is seeking a Chief Inspector to manage the inspection department, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and ISO/AS requirements.

You will oversee return-to-service processes, lead RCCA investigations, and coordinate with QA and safety programs while maintaining regulatory documentation and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s Degree (or 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years of inspection experience under FAA regulations, OR 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Valid A&P License.
• Experience as Chief Inspector/Quality Supervisor/Lead Auditor preferred.
• Familiar with FAA regulations, AS9110/Supplier Quality Management.
• Experience with RCCA and continuous improvement processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspection standards, methods, and procedures per FAA and manufacturers' specs.
• Lead internal/external audits and maintain regulatory documentation.
• Direct PWES inspection processes and ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100/AS9110.
• Conduct risk and opportunity assessments and maintain Quality KPIs.
• Lead RCCA investigations and support Safety Management System deployment.

What You Will Do

The Chief Inspector is responsible to the Quality Manager for the overall operation of the inspection department and delegated to oversee all return to service processes. You will direct, plan and lay out the details of inspection standards, methods, and procedures used by the repair stations in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Manufactures specifications and recommendations. Occasional travel is required to support various QA activities (i.e., training, audit support, functional department meetings/engagements), with occasional extended work hours. FAA Anti‑Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program – This position is covered under the PWES FAA Anti‑Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program. The selected candidate will be required to complete a pre‑employment FAA drug screen. Vision Program – This position is covered under the PWES Vision program, and the selected candidate will be a participant in this program.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing a variety of duties in supporting & implementing the Pratt & Whitney Engine Services Internal Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance to FAA regulations, ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100/AS9110 (as revised) requirements.
• Provide oversight of the PWES and MRT inspection process.
• Involved in Internal/External Audits.
• Create, update, and maintain all regulatory documentation.
• Conduct Risk and Opportunity assessments.
• Ensure deployment of site Safety Management System (SMS) for compliance to PWES Product Safety and Product Quality requirements.
• Lead RCCA investigations.
• Maintain Quality Metrics and KPIs.

Qualifications

• You Must Have Associate’s Degree (or other 2 year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years of inspection experience complying with Federal Aviation Regulations, OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Valid A&P License.
• We Prefer Previous experience as a Chief Inspector, Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager, or as a Lead Auditor.
• Experience with investigation (RCCA) Process and other continuous improvement processes/tools.
• In-depth working knowledge with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
• Working knowledge of technical Documentation/ standards.
• Familiar with engine assembly and disassembly process, as well as component repair process and return to service functions.
• Familiar with inspection and measurement equipment.
• Experience with regulatory certification.
• Training / working knowledge of AS9110 and Supplier Quality Management.
