Job description

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced naval and maritime professionals with deep expertise in U.S. Navy operations, defence programmes, intelligence, stakeholder coordination, and senior-level briefing to contribute to a high-impact project supporting Navy decision-making.

Selected professionals will apply operational, programmatic, or intelligence experience to analyse naval capabilities, synthesise complex information, develop actionable recommendations, and brief senior military and civilian stakeholders. The role requires substantial naval-domain expertise, strong analytical judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in secure, classified environments. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities
Naval Operations & Domain Analysis
  • Develop expert analysis on naval operations, platforms, doctrine, and mission requirements
  • Apply direct fleet, programme, or intelligence experience to complex naval and maritime questions
  • Evaluate operational and programmatic information in support of Navy planning and requirements
  • Interpret developments in naval capabilities and maritime security
  • Provide recommendations grounded in practical defence and maritime experience
Classified & Unclassified Information Assessment
  • Assess and synthesise classified and unclassified operational or programme data
  • Translate complex information into clear findings and decision-relevant recommendations
  • Apply strong analytical judgement in high-stakes or sensitive environments
  • Distinguish material operational issues from lower-priority information
  • Maintain rigorous handling standards for sensitive and classified information
Executive Briefing & Written Assessment
  • Draft concise, actionable written assessments for senior decision-makers
  • Prepare and deliver high-level briefings for military and civilian leadership
  • Communicate complex naval issues clearly to executive and flag-level audiences
  • Adapt briefing content to strategic, operational, and programme-specific contexts
  • Support leadership decision-making through clear, evidence-based analysis
Stakeholder Coordination & Mission Alignment
  • Coordinate across Navy, Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and industry stakeholders
  • Gather relevant input from multiple organisations and subject-matter experts
  • Reconcile differing perspectives and priorities across mission stakeholders
  • Support alignment between operational requirements, programme objectives, and strategic goals
  • Navigate complex organisational environments while maintaining focus on mission outcomes
Secure Environment & Classified Operations
  • Operate in accordance with applicable secure-facility and classified-information protocols
  • Handle TS/SCI-level materials where authorised and required
  • Maintain strict adherence to clearance, access, and information-security requirements
  • Apply appropriate judgement regarding disclosure, dissemination, and need-to-know
  • Support project activities within controlled and secure working environments
Ideal Profile
  • Minimum of approximately 10 years of experience in the U.S. Navy, MARAD/DOT, or comparable maritime or defence roles
  • Background at approximately O-4/O-5, GS-13/14-equivalent level, or comparable demonstrated subject-matter authority
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is strongly preferred
  • At minimum, Secret clearance held within the last 24 months with eligibility for TS/SCI reinstatement
  • Strong experience briefing executive, senior military, or flag-level leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to produce concise and actionable written assessments
  • Familiarity with Pentagon processes, OPNAV, NAVSEA, PEO environments, or comparable defence structures
  • Strong stakeholder-navigation skills across military, government, intelligence, and industry organisations
  • Proven analytical judgement in classified or high-stakes project environments
  • Intelligence-analysis or Intelligence Community experience is strongly advantageous
  • Master's degree in national security, defence studies, engineering, or a related discipline is desirable
  • No prior experience in AI training or model evaluation is required
