Job summary

Penn State University in University Park, PA seeks an Assistant Teaching Professor to support its online master’s programs in Organization Development and Change and other LPS offerings. The 48-week appointment focuses on teaching and advising with potential renewal based on need and funding. In-person teaching may occur; flexible hybrid arrangements are supported.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate (PhD or EdD) in education, workforce education and development, OD and change, or related field.
• Evidence of excellence or potential excellence in online graduate teaching (asynchronous) and inclusive pedagogy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated strengths in time management, prioritizing multiple responsibilities, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Teach online, asynchronous courses with occasional in-person sessions.
• Coordinate with World Campus instructional designers and media specialists for high-quality online delivery and accessibility.
• Advise master’s students through program milestones and capstone completion.
• Advise online doctoral students supporting exams, course planning, and capstone development.
• Assist with course scheduling, program assessment, accreditation, admissions, orientation, and student success initiatives.
• Collaborate with department head, WFED program lead, faculty, and staff to support operations.
• Participate in department and program meetings and events.
