Job summary

Free Geek is seeking an Online Sales Associate in Portland, OR to list refurbished tech for sale and respond to customers via email, in person, and on eBay. This role blends retail experience with hands-on ecommerce research and sales in a mission-driven organization.

We offer full-time stability (40 hours/week), a Tue–Sat schedule, benefits including a 401(k), PTO, and health options, plus opportunities to learn and grow in ecommerce and tech sales within Free Geek.

Qualifications

• Prepare and contribute to monthly pop-up shop events.

FREE GEEK PUBLIC DONATION HOURS: WEDNESDAY - SATURDAY | 11AM - 4PM.

Free Geek, a leading electronics recycling and nonprofit technology refurbisher, seeks an organized and energetic Online Sales Associate to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This role is perfect for individuals who have a passion for providing affordable technology to help minimize the Digital Divide. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to making a positive environmental impact while maintaining an orderly workspace.

Position Highlights:

• Competitive Pay: 19.50 Hourly/Union Position
• Full-Time Stability: 40-hour a week standard weekly schedule.
• Work-Life Balance: This position will be Tuesday - Saturday 9:30 AM-6:00 PM. Work schedules are published 7 days in advance.

In This Role, You Will:

• Research and list refurbished technology and components for e-commerce using various platforms but primarily ebay.
• Respond to customers' feedback and inquiries via email, in person or through eBay’s messaging system.
• Respond with trauma informed care to our community members who visit Free Geek through our mission.
• Prepare, organize, and contribute to our monthly pop‑up shop.
