Job summary

San Juan College in Farmington, NM seeks a motivated safety expert to lead and grow our Online Safety Degree Programs within the School of Energy.

This 12-month, on-campus position emphasizes workforce development, industry partnerships, and robust safety curriculum. The ideal candidate brings OSHA knowledge, hazard analysis, and safety-management experience, plus a credential or pursuit of one. Responsibilities include course development, accreditation coordination, and advising students.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the occupational field.
At least one industry-recognized credential.
3–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Develops, prepares and teaches courses; manages syllabi, assignments, tests, and records.
Provides students with responsive and substantive interaction on an ongoing basis.
Coordinates scheduling of program courses and catalog dates, times and descriptions.
Directs curriculum and program assessment per accreditation standards.
Identifies regional employer partners and chairs advisory committees.
Continuously monitors changing needs of employers and students; revises offerings.
Coordinates program accreditation functions.
Maintains attendance records, grades and required records; enters courses into LMS.
Supervises instructors; ensures materials and resources.
Resolves student and staff issues; participates in recruitment.
Serves as Emergency Response Coordinator; updates plans; primary contact in emergencies.
Serves on college committees; performs related duties.
