The School of Clinical and Developmental Sciences at NIU invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Associate Professor or Professor to serve as the inaugural MSW Program Director and lead the program toward CSWE accreditation.

The role includes academic leadership, curriculum development, budgeting, staffing, and teaching, with active scholarship and community partnerships. NIU is in DeKalb, IL, near Chicago and Rockford.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in social work or related field.
• MSW from CSWE-accredited program.
• Minimum of two years post-MS W professional practice.
• Experience with CSWE accreditation processes.
• Record of scholarly publications and conference presentations.
• Higher education administration and leadership experience.
• Proficiency with instructional technologies for course delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the online MSW program, CSWE accreditation, curriculum, and staffing.
• Manage marketing, admissions, and field placement processes for MSW students.
• Provide academic leadership and ensure instructional excellence.
• Conduct program evaluation and data analysis for growth.
• Lead program meetings and university committee work.
• Collaborate with external partners to diversify the social work workforce.
• Teach courses within the online MSW program and contribute to curriculum development.
