Job summary
Shawnee State University seeks qualified individuals to serve as part-time adjunct faculty in the School of Nursing for the MSN online program. Compensation is based on contract hours and highest degree held, with tuition waivers and professional development opportunities provided. Open postings are maintained each semester based on enrollment needs.
Employment is contingent on budget approval and a background check. Official transcripts must be submitted to the Dean’s Office in Portsmouth, OH.
Qualifications
- Earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of full-time teaching experience at a regionally accredited institution OR five (5) years of professional nursing experience.
- Valid unencumbered Ohio RN license or multi-state licensure
- Related professional experience in Nursing
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in one or more area: clinical, classroom, online.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent technology skills
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
Responsibilities
- Teach courses for the MSN program, including online delivery.
- Develop and assess course materials, assignments, and exams.
- Maintain professional licensure and stay current in nursing education.
- Contribute to program assessment and student advising.
