Shawnee State University seeks qualified individuals to serve as part-time adjunct faculty in the School of Nursing for the MSN online program. Compensation is based on contract hours and highest degree held, with tuition waivers and professional development opportunities provided. Open postings are maintained each semester based on enrollment needs.

Employment is contingent on budget approval and a background check. Official transcripts must be submitted to the Dean’s Office in Portsmouth, OH.

Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of full-time teaching experience at a regionally accredited institution OR five (5) years of professional nursing experience.
• Valid unencumbered Ohio RN license or multi-state licensure
• Related professional experience in Nursing
• Evidence of successful teaching experience in one or more area: clinical, classroom, online.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent technology skills
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment

Responsabilités

• Teach courses for the MSN program, including online delivery.
• Develop and assess course materials, assignments, and exams.
• Maintain professional licensure and stay current in nursing education.
• Contribute to program assessment and student advising.

The College of Health and Human Services at Shawnee State University seeks qualified individuals for all terms (6 per year) to serve as part-time faculty (adjunct) in the School of Nursing for the programs listed below

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), fully online program

Payment is based on contract hours according to the highest degree held.

• Adjunct faculty at SSU are eligible for tuition waivers (TuitionWaiverforAdjunctFacultyPolicy)and enjoy professional development opportunities, office space, and limited mileage reimbursement.
• They and their family (children 14 years and up) also have free access to the athletic facility.

Employment with the University is dependent upon BOT budget approval for the current fiscal year. A background check is required prior to hire. Official transcripts are required and must be submitted prior to hire to the Dean’s Office, College of Health and Human Services at 940 2nd Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662
