Job summary

Accelschools is looking for a Literacy Coach for their virtual school setup, which requires some travel for state testing. This role involves delivering instructional coaching aligned with the Ohio Model for Literacy, analyzing student data, and facilitating professional development.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s or doctoral degree in Reading, a Reading Endorsement, and experience in instructional coaching. The position offers a starting salary between $45,000 and $58,000 annually along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Reading Endorsement (PreK–12).
• Completion of required Science of Reading professional learning modules.
• Previous experience as an instructional coach or literacy specialist.
• Strong background in data-driven instruction and intervention design.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sustained, job-embedded coaching aligned with the Ohio Model.
• Analyze student data to identify instructional needs and guide coaching priorities.
• Facilitate professional development aligned to literacy best practices.
• Support teachers with reading comprehension strategies and vocabulary development.

Skills

Instructional coaching experience

Strong background in data-driven instruction

Experience supporting adult learners

Knowledge of structured literacy practices

Education

Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Reading/Literacy
