Job summary

Jefferson County Educational Service Center invites applications for an Online Learning Intern. Based at the R. Larry George Training Annex in Steubenville, this up-to-29-hours-per-week role supports interactive content creation, LMS data entry, and professional communications with parents and students.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be organized, and demonstrate willingness to learn. The internship may lead to a full-time position with benefits after successful completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a BCI/FBI background check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Gmail).
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat for PDF management.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver for basic web design and development tasks.
• Comfortable using Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to compose professional emails to parents, students, and staff.
• Highly organized with effective time management skills.
• Willingness to learn and pursue continued education/training.
• Understanding of ethics and confidentiality in an educational setting.
• Ability to lift up to 5 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Check and update Microsoft Teams calendars and shared spreadsheets.
• Create and support interactive educational content.
• Enter questions and answers into an online Learning Management System (LMS).
• Print, copy, bind, and prepare paper-based learning materials.
• Organize digital and physical files for ease of access and review.
• Assist with setup and teardown at conferences and trade shows.
• Support and co-host virtual webinars as needed.
• Draft and send professional communications to parents, students, and educators.
• Engage in professional development and stay up to date on new trends and tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.

Salary: $15 per hour

Employment Date: 25-26 School Year

Contract: up to 29 hours per week

Qualifications and Requirements:
