Job summary

Fort Valley State University seeks an Instructional Designer to support faculty in developing and delivering online classes. The role involves creating multimedia content, training faculty on the LMS, and evaluating online courses for quality and accessibility.

Under the Director of Online Learning, you will also update the university website and develop training materials. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• More than three years of related experience required.
• Knowledge of instructional design for online learning.
• Ability to create webpages using Bootstrap, HTML5, and CSS.
• ADA/Section 508 compliance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops online courses and multimedia based on current responsible design standards.
• Develop aesthetic presentations for online courses.
• Evaluates online courses based on Quality Matters and Internal Standards and Policies.
• Trains and assist faculty in the use of the learning management system.
• Assist students in the use of the learning management system.
• Updates and manages relevant portions of the FVSU website.
• Develop online training materials to assist with faculty development.
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures.
• Research recommends software to enhance the online learning environment.
• Research pedagogical techniques and trends on online education.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
