University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for an an 9-month non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Interdisciplinary Studies to begin August 2027. The role involves teaching a 4:4 load of core online courses plus one course in your area of expertise across six concentration tracks, aligning with program objectives and student success.

The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvement of online delivery and engage in service to the university.

Qualifications

MA in Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Studies, or another inherently interdisciplinary discipline at time of application
At least three years of meaningful experience teaching online, asynchronous, interdisciplinary courses at the University level
At least three years of direct experience working with adult learners
Commitment to an authentic student experience in an online, asynchronous environment

Responsibilities

Teach online core courses and one course in candidate's area of expertise across six concentration tracks
Lead continuous improvement efforts for core courses to meet student needs
Be an active university member through service and departmental engagement
