Job summary
The University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a nine-month non-tenure-track lecturer in Interdisciplinary Studies to begin August 2027. The position features a 4:4 teaching load, delivering core IDS courses online in traditional and accelerated formats and adding a course in the candidate's area of expertise aligned with one of six concentration tracks.

Qualifications
- MA in Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Studies, or another inherently interdisciplinary discipline at time of application
- At least three years of meaningful experience teaching online, asynchronous, interdisciplinary courses at the University level
- At least three years of direct experience working with adult learners
- Commitment to an authentic student experience in an online, asynchronous environment
- PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Studies, or other inherently interdisciplinary discipline (preferred)
- Experience teaching in an accelerated format (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Teach core IDS courses online in traditional and accelerated formats
- Teach one course in area of expertise aligned with a concentration track
- Lead continuous improvement efforts for core courses to meet student needs
- Engage in service and departmental activities
