Job summary

Germanna Community College in Virginia is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Biology (Anatomy and Physiology) both in-person and online during the day. Adjunct faculty are contracted to teach up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring and up to 8 credit hours during summer session.

Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The position is part-time, with hours varying between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm, and final salary determination within the GCC and VCCS range.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Biology (Anatomy and Physiology).
• Ability to teach both in-person and online courses.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
