Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Teacher to deliver online course content for the Virginia Virtual Academy (VAVA). The role is full-time and virtual, with occasional in-person events as required.

The teacher will provide instruction, support, and guidance, monitor progress in Stride K12’s LMS, and collaborate with learning coaches and administrators to meet each student's needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required as part of the qualification.
• Active state teaching license is required.
• Experience with online learning platforms and teaching in virtual environments.
• Experience teaching in online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification hours and K12 curriculum fluency.
• Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver course content in an online environment with instruction and guidance.
• Monitor student progress through the LMS and drive instructional decisions.
• Collaborate with learning coaches/parents and administrators.
• Maintain grade books and alert administrators to concerns about performance.
• Travel for face-to-face PDs and school events as required.
• Augment course content as directed by principals/coaches.
• Support a virtual classroom environment in line with academy policies.
• Assist in maintaining high-quality, student-centered instruction.
