Job summary

Connections Academy is seeking an Adjunct Teacher to manage Family and Consumer Science programs remotely from home in Ohio. Compensation is workload- and enrollment-based, with duties including monitoring progress, evaluating work, and conducting online sessions for middle school students.

The role requires Ohio teaching certification, strong tech skills with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and excellent communication. Regular hours and some after-hours training may be required.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified and certified to teach in Ohio (appropriate to grade level and subject responsibilities).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with parents/learning coaches, students and other teachers via phone, WebMail, discussions, and conferencing.
• Instruct students, monitor work, provide feedback, and suggest instructional approaches.
• Monitor completion of assignments in the subject area and score assessments.
• Conduct online tutorial sessions for students using online conferencing software.
• Develop detailed knowledge of the curriculum for which responsible; be subject expert.
• Provide struggling students with alternate strategies and additional assistance.
• Complete required training sessions throughout the year.
• Other duties as assigned.
