Job summary

Kern Community College District is seeking part-time hourly adjunct instructors for online Ethnic Studies courses. The pool remains active for up to two years and instructors may be contacted if a need arises.

Instructors will teach a full range of Ethnic Studies topics, support transfer programs, and keep curricula current, using computer and multimedia tools to reach a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Ethnic Studies or a related field.
• Master's degree in Ethnic Studies is acceptable.
• Equivalent experience or education may be considered by the department.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in Ethnic Studies courses online.
• Participate in recruitment and articulation of transfer programs.
• Maintain currency; develop and revise online curricula.
• Use computer and multimedia technology for instruction.
• Participate in departmental and college professional activities.
