ACCEL Schools LLC’s Virtual Preparatory Academy of Florida seeks teachers for a statewide online K-12 program. You will serve as the teacher of record, deliver live lessons, and monitor progress across core subjects. Travel for state testing and events is required several times yearly.

The role emphasizes culturally responsive instruction, collaboration with families, and rigorous accountability while using a 21st-century curriculum and LMS-based course setup.

Qualifications

• Current State teaching license in appropriate content area
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Preferred two years' teaching experience
• Comfort with growth-focused coaching based on observations, debriefs and action planning
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
• Ability to manage confidential information
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes
• Ability to supervise students in all school settings
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in all core content areas and grade levels
• Meet goals related to student achievement, culture, and state accountability
• Deliver effective live lessons via web conference based on student needs
• Complete course setup for each course within the LMS
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback/grades daily
• Maintain contact with each student
• Collaborate with Principal to create Progress Reports for Students
• Review student data to inform instructional adjustments
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Use research-based practices in synchronous and asynchronous teaching
• Create a joyful, caring classroom environment
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching
• Implement school-wide culture expectations
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth
• Incorporate 21st century tech skills in daily practice
• Assist with planning non-instructional activities and attend events
• Collaborate and communicate respectfully with colleagues
• Travel to support face-to-face state testing annually
• Perform other duties as assigned
