Job summary

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking an adjunct instructor for the Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program. The role focuses on online course organization, administration, review, planning and development, with teaching duties in DMSc courses.

The position is PRN, offering a flat rate of $5,000 per course taught; responsibilities include mentoring DMSc students, curriculum updates, and participation in related governance and committee activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Earned JD degree from an accredited institution.
• Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
• Post-secondary teaching experience (desirable).
• Experience with healthcare law (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in area of expertise and provide educational support for DMSc students; develop, evaluate and revise the curriculum for assigned courses; conduct periodic reviews of DMSc students and provide ongoing formative and summative feedback; serve as advisor and mentor for DMSc students.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development activities, and retreats.
• Assist and support DMSc students with doctoral projects.
