Job summary

Downtown Boulder Partnership is seeking Online CIS Data Analytics Adjunct Faculty in Virginia Beach, VA. Instructors will teach in the undergraduate Software Development program, sharing industry experiences to aid student learning outcomes.

No prior teaching experience is required as training and mentorship will be provided. Candidates must have a Master's degree in Computer Science and be available to support evening and weekend classes. Competitive compensation and various employee benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years industry experience required within the last 5 years.
• Comfortable troubleshooting software or technical concerns for students.
• Responsible for supplying your own Windows-based computer and webcam.

Responsibilities

• Teach one live session each week and hold one live office hour via Zoom.
• Support busy adult learners during evenings and weekends.

Skills

Programming experience in C, C++, Coral, Python, Java, Assembly, Javascript, CSS, HTML and/or SQL

Proficiency in at least one statistical analysis tool (SAS / R / Python / Hadoop)

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in a 5-week accelerated course environment

Strong interpersonal skills (approachability and empathy)

Online CIS Data Analytics Adjunct Faculty (Virginia Beach, VA)

We are looking for instructors to teach in our undergraduate level Software Development program. No prior teaching experience is needed; we provide training, mentoring, and ongoing faculty support.

Our terms are five weeks long and offer faculty the perfect environment in which to share their specific industry experiences to help students achieve learning outcomes.

Candidates must be available evenings and weekends to support our busy adult learners.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications: Masters degree in Computer Science with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited educational institution.

Experience: 3-5 years industry experience required within the last 5 years.

Required Skills

• Programming experience in C, C++, Coral, Python, Java, Assembly, Javascript, CSS, HTML and/or SQL. Proficiency in at least one statistical analysis tool: SAS / R / Python / Hadoop; Familiarity with data visualization and presentation tools.
• Expertise with data management, collecting, organizing, and storing data in a way that is efficient, secure, and cost effective.
• Required to teach one live session each week and hold one live office hour per week via Zoom.
• Comfortable being first point of contact to troubleshoot software or technical concerns for students. Ability to quickly build connections with students using strong interpersonal skills (including approachability and empathy).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a 5-week accelerated course environment.
• The highest levels of integrity at all times.

Online Faculty Technical Requirements

• Reliable high-speed internet required.
• Responsible for supplying your own Windows-based computer and webcam that pass the ECPI University minimum requirements test.
