Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking part-time tutors to work on-site in Wisconsin, delivering one-on-one and small-group support across math, science, language arts, and writing. Tutors will use RTTC materials, monitor progress, and coordinate with counselors.

The role emphasizes behavior management, strong communication with students and families, and the ability to adapt instruction to individual needs. At least 10–20 hours per week on-site are expected.

Qualifications

• Education: 48 hours of college credit with a 2.5 GPA, or two years of full-time instructional experience in a K-12 school.
• Ability to instruct students, manage behavior, communicate effectively, and work with families.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring and in-class support to help students meet objectives.
• Use a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Support a productive learning environment and build trust with students and families.
• Identify concepts needing instruction and deliver instruction as needed.
• Familiarize with RTTC materials and textbooks.
• Tutor in math/science or language arts; conduct mini-lessons in writing and study skills.
• Guide students through the writing process (brainstorming, drafting, revision).
• Report progress and concerns to College counseling team/teacher.
• Host sessions to meet all students’ needs; on-site 10–20 hours weekly.
