Job summary

Jeffco Public Schools seeks a Para-Educator for Foothills Elementary to support a student with intensive needs. This hourly position (0.5 FTE, 4 hours/day, 178 days/year) involves assisting with instructional activities, implementing IEPs, and maintaining records under the teacher's supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; no experience required. CPI, CPR and First Aid certificates are recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; 1 year preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work with students with various disabilities is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support in academic and related areas for an individual student as directed by the teacher.
• Support the special education teacher with materials and participation in IEP implementation.
• Assist with health-related tasks and personal care needs as directed.
• Provide lunch/recess/bus supervision and help maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and support classroom behavior; participate in trainings as required.
