Job summary

Jeffco Public Schools is seeking a Para Educator for Independence Support to assist a first-grade student in an ASD Center program. This 0.875 FTE, 7-hour day position supports instructional and behavioral needs in a inclusive classroom setting.

Responsibilities include helping with IEPs, preparing teaching materials, and supervising health and daily activities. Education requires a high school diploma; experience in K-12 is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; one year of related work in K-12 preferred.
• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with students who have disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support for an individual student as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in implementation of IEPs and prep materials; document progress as required.
• Administer medications per district policy and follow nursing guidance.
• Perform lunch/recess/bus duties and health/personal care tasks as needed.
• Apply de-escalation strategies and manage classroom behavior.
• Attend trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
