Job summary

Qualifications

• Shall have at least a high school diploma.
• Good public relations skills.
• Good attendance record is expected.
• Ability to work with minimal direction.
• Ability to work around interruptions.
• Ability to work with a variety of backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate with teachers, pupils, parents, and the public with friendliness and poise.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information.

Responsibilities

• Assigned to one student to assist in their daily schedule/activities
• Maintain the confidentiality of all student, staff, and administrative correspondence.
• Perform all assigned tasks in a prompt and professional manner.
• In the absence of immediate administrative direction, act in the best interests of the students and the school district.
• Maintain behavior and utilize behavior intervention when necessary.
• Assist with student self care needs.
• Assistant teachers in the implementation of IEPs/IFSPs.
• Assist students with social integration
• Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and General Education Teachers as well as related services staff (ancillary)
• Familiarize and support the implementation of specific student requirements and supports (AAC Devices, visuals, behavioral support plans).
• Deal with teachers, pupils, parents and the public with friendliness, tact and poise.
• Perform other duties and assignments as may be directed by administrator, or assigned professional staff member.
