Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) invites a Registered Nurse to join our team as a School Nurse. The Nurse will deliver direct, individualized care to a student throughout the day and monitor medical status, administrate medications, and support the student in daily activities.

The role demands adherence to IHP and emergency plans, safe transport assistance, and collaboration with staff. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Nursing and eligibility for a School Nurse endorsement, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and eligibility for school nurse endorsement.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with school staff and families.
• Experience in pediatric care and school health settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized nursing care to one student throughout the school day.
• Monitor ongoing medical status (respiratory, seizure activity, glucose, vitals).
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per care plan.
• Maintain continuous supervision to ensure safety during class, transitions, lunch, recess, and specials.
• Document care and communicate updates to families, staff, and district nursing leadership.
• Follow IHP and Emergency Action Plan; readiness for medical emergencies.
• Support student during transportation (bus nurse) if required.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure safe access to instruction.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; ensure cleanliness and availability.
• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to school, district, and state guidelines.
