Job summary

Gloucester Township School District All Buildings in Gloucester Township, New Jersey is seeking a Paraeducator - One-to-One Aide to support a student in the classroom.

Responsibilities include hand-over-hand assistance, maintaining focus during activities, supervising cafeteria and recess, preparing instructional materials, and helping with toileting, dressing, feeding, and supervision as directed by the teacher.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a high school graduate, or hold the equivalency of one.

Responsibilities

• Observe student and protect confidentiality.
• Assist in classroom (hand-over-hand handwriting).
• Supervise the special area teacher as needed.
• Help clean up after activities promptly.
• Assist student with toileting/dressing when needed.
• Assist student with feeding when needed.
• Supervise cafeteria and recess.
• Supervise students in teacher planned activities.
• Prepare instructional materials (art).
• Help keep students on task during programs.
• Supervise and assist students in inclusive classroom.
• Provide clerical assistance (duplicate materials).
• Reinforce appropriate behavior per teacher's plan.
• Listen to and read with students.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Assist in teaching in small groups or one-on-one.
