Job summary

Mercer County Special Services School District is seeking a One-on-One Assistant to support a student throughout the day in a New Jersey school setting. This non-certificated staff member works under the direction of classroom teachers and certified staff to promote academic achievement, behavioral growth, socio-emotional relationships, and personal development.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for a child throughout the day under the direction of classroom teachers and/or certified staff.
• Assist students to promote academic achievement, behavioral growth, socio-emotional relationships, and personal development.
• Adapt to the individual educational/therapeutic needs of the student(s).
