Job summary

The School District of DeSoto County seeks a Teacher Assistant - ESE One on One at West Elementary in Arcadia, Florida. The paraprofessional will support students with disabilities and assist teachers with instructional activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of college study (60 credit hours) or an Associate's degree.
• Alternatively, knowledge and ability to assist in instruction as verified by ParaPro.
• Satisfactory background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing materials and instructional activities.
• Schedule space for specialized instructional programs and arrange equipment.
• Provide one-on-one and small group supervision as needed.
• Assist in monitoring IEP goals and accommodations.
• Escort or transport students to and from classrooms as required.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment.
