Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college or an Associate degree, or ParaPro verification.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• Alternative qualifications may be considered.
• ParaPro certification acceptable if above qualifications are not met.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with materials, teaching aids, and setup for direct instructional activity.
• Schedule space for specialized instructional programs and coordinate equipment and activity areas.
• Examine unit plans and anticipate needs for supplies and materials.
• Assist in adapting curriculum for diverse backgrounds and needs.
• Use time efficiently and supervise students before, during, and after school.
• Maintain records and enforce classroom rules; escort or transport students as required.
• Assist in assessing student progress, proctor tests, and maintain records.
• Lead small group activities after training and support classroom management.
• Perform clerical and bookkeeping duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to support instruction.
