Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Elementary K–6 teaching certification and classroom experience.
• Experience teaching grades 3–5 and upper-elementary curriculum.
• Strong communication with kids and parents.
• Ability to adapt instructional approaches in real time.
• Availability for after-school, evening, or weekend hours.
• Familiarity with Zoom or Google Meet for online sessions.
• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions in core elementary subjects: reading comprehension, writing, math, and study skills.
• Plan sessions around each student’s gaps with tailored pacing and materials.
• Build confidence alongside skills and address math/readings gaps to improve outcomes.
• Coordinate with parents and classroom teachers to reinforce school learning.
• Track progress across sessions and adjust strategies as needed.
• Submit a brief session note after each tutoring session for families and directors.
