Job summary

Teacher Tutors is seeking certified elementary teachers to join as part-time tutors for one-on-one sessions with students in grades 3–5. Sessions occur in homes, online, or at the Livingston, NJ office, with travel within a chosen radius.

Responsibilities include tutoring, planning around individual gaps, tracking progress, and coordinating with parents. Availability after school, evenings, or weekends is required. Compensation is per hour.

Qualifications

• NJ Elementary K-6 teaching certification (Endorsements in reading, math, or ESL are a plus).
• Classroom teaching experience at elementary level, ideally grades 3–5.
• Upper-elementary curriculum knowledge: reading comprehension, writing, fractions/multi-step problem solving, study skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions in core elementary subjects: reading, writing, math, and study skills.
• Plan sessions around each student’s gaps with tailored materials and pacing.
• Build confidence and address math/reading gaps to improve outcomes.
