Job summary

Serenity, LLC in New Jersey is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. This role offers flexible scheduling (day/evening/weekends), paid training, and competitive pay of $21.50–$26.50 per hour, with opportunities for career growth and meaningful, person-centered support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle.
• Ability to pass background checks and DDD screenings.
• Smartphone or computer for documentation.
• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD preferred; CPR/First Aid training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities.
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized.
• Provide safe transportation.
• Follow individualized service plans and person-centered goals.
• Complete timely service notes and required documentation.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and self-advocacy.
