Job summary

South Daytona Elementary seeks an Exceptional Student Ed Paraprofessional to support ASD students through one-on-one and group activities. The role requires assisting with behavioral plans, daily living activities, and instructional tasks under teacher supervision.

Responsibilities include documenting attendance and progress, providing classroom support, and ensuring confidentiality of student information per FERPA guidelines. Training (STAR) is required within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Holds a High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Holds an Associate’s degree or higher; or 48 college hours; or Para Pro Assessment.
• Complete STAR substitute training within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional instructional staff with supervision and educational support.
• Implement services for students with disabilities per policy.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and assist with daily living activities as directed.
• Support classroom instruction and document program activities.
• Maintain confidential student information and assist with behavior management.
• Utilize computer software to document and report program progress.
