Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a One Half-Time Cook for Mullens Elementary and Middle School. Responsibilities include preparing all types of food per state and federal guidelines, serving meals to students and staff, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and assisting with inventory.

The role requires ability to read recipes, operate school kitchen equipment, and pass WVDE cook competency test. A Wyoming County Foodhandlers Permit is required; 200-day term per year.

Qualifications

• Proficient in cooking and food preparation with institutional or commercial cooking background preferred.
• Should be able to read recipes and make calculations for ingredients.
• Must pass WVDE cook competency test.
• -valid Wyoming County Foodhandlers Permit required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of work and conduct as determined by the Director of Child Nutrition and General Wellness.
• Preparation of all types of food according to State and Federal guidelines.
• Wash dishes, sweep and mop kitchen area, as needed.
• Cleans all equipment used.
• Serve food to students and staff.
• Aid in taking inventory of food and supplies and restock storage areas as food and supplies are received.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
