Job summary

Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, VA, part of PetVet Care Centers, seeks an Oncology Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. The role emphasizes providing advanced veterinary care for oncology patients, skilled nursing, and client communication.

We offer a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 based on experience and a supportive culture focused on professional growth, collaboration, and outstanding patient care in a busy specialty and emergency hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician credential or eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure.
• Minimum of three years of veterinary clinical experience.
• Minimum of one year of oncology or internal medicine veterinary experience.
• Competence in patient assessment, restraint, vital sign monitoring, medication administration, laboratory procedures, and medical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by examinations and reviewing care plans and records, performing diagnostics.
• Care for patients: vital signs, samples, meds, vaccines, wound care.
• Assist with examinations and operations; prepare supplies; restrain patients as directed.
• Maintain medical records and communication with pet owners about patient status.
• Perform duties to support safe, clean, and organized hospital environments.
• Maintain inventory and participate in ongoing education and training.
