PetVet Care Centers' Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, VA is seeking an Oncology Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role supports the veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks and helps deliver compassionate care across our hospital.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of experience in a veterinary clinical environment.
• Candidates should have experience with patient restraint, medication preparation, hospitalized patient care, and supporting diagnostic and sedated procedures.
• Must communicate professionally, work collaboratively, and safely perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, take vitals upon arrival
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by LVTs
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors with medications or patient restraint
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment
• Fill prescriptions and maintain documentation of controlled drugs
• Educate clients about insurance and wellness plans
• Maintain medical records and hospital cleanliness
