Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license issued by the state of practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association)
• BSN degree or equivalent
• 2+ years nursing experience, preferably with leadership exposure
• Strong clinical skills and ability to lead in dynamic environments
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team
• Use of critical thinking and timely decision making
• Ability to assess skills and abilities of others

Responsibilities

• Provides operational and clinical leadership to the unit during the assigned shift, serving as a clinical resource.
• Leads provision and coordination of patient-centered, compassionate care.
• Promotes accountability for evidence-based practice and outcomes improvement.
• Anticipates and secures resources needed for the current shift and next 24 hours.
• Supports creation and oversight of department schedule and reflects changes on schedule/timecard.
• Performs the principal duties of the Registered Nurse and serves as a role model for professional practice.
