Job summary

Tennessee Oncology in Nashville is seeking a RN Triage Nurse to monitor and respond to patient calls, messages, and emails, and to assess symptom severity. The role operates within the RN scope of practice under TN Board of Nursing and TN ONC policies.

You will use TN ONC algorithms, coordinate with physicians and front office, educate patients and caregivers, document in the EMR, and support timely appointments and care plans while maintaining compassionate, culturally aware communication.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• 2+ years of oncology and/or telephone triage experience preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology/hematology diseases, treatments, and side effects.

Responsibilities

• Addresses patient calls, portal messages, tasks and emails concerning symptoms and care.
• Assesses urgency of symptoms and coordinates care.
• Collaborates with physicians via electronic communication to discuss care needs.
• Performs charting and updating records in the EMR.
• Provides patient education and counseling on medications and referrals.
