Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a Treatment Nurse (RN) to deliver safe, compassionate oncology care, administering chemotherapy and other therapies, and supporting patients and families throughout their treatment journey.

This full-time role features a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends or major holidays, collaboration with physicians and APPs, travel to satellite clinics 1–2 days per week, and a focus on patient education, HIPAA compliance, and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Requires an Illinois RN license and ideally a BSN.
• Experience in oncology or cancer care is preferred and a patient-centered mindset is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally rewarding environment with strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments with safety protocols.
• Performing clinical procedures such as port flushes, dressing changes, injections, and catheterizations.
• Assessing patients in person and by phone for side effects, toxicities, emergencies, and overall well‑being.
• Supporting physicians with diagnostic procedures and thorough nursing assessments.
• Traveling to satellite clinics 1–2 days per week to extend care across the network.
