Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Idaho is seeking an Oncology Social Worker to provide advocacy, education, and timely bio-psycho-social interventions for patients and families. The MSW helps achieve quality care outcomes by coordinating with medical staff and outside resources to plan treatment and transitions.

The role requires LMSW or LPC in Idaho, with preference for LCSW/LCPC, a Master’s in social work or counseling, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required in Idaho.
• Master’s degree in social work or counseling is required.
• Licensure or proof of application in Oregon within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Completes bio-psycho-social and environmental assessments on identified or referred patients.
• Provides interventions for patients and families/caregivers including counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals.
• Documents assessments and interventions in the EMR and coordinates with physicians, nurses and care teams.
