U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an experienced oncologist to directly oversee inpatient oncology care for veterans, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and discharge planning. The role focuses on maintaining efficient unit operations, bed management, and coordination with care teams to ensure smooth patient flows.

Candidates must hold a full, unrestricted U.S. medical license and be board eligible/certified in oncology, with residency training approved by ACGME/AOA.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Current - full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Completion of residency in an approved specialty.
• Board eligibility/certification in oncology or related field.

Responsabilités

• Directly oversee inpatient oncology care for veterans, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
• Ensure efficient operation of oncology inpatient units, bed management and patient flow.
• Coordinate with case managers, social workers, and community resources for patient care.
• Develop and implement oncology programs to improve service delivery and outcomes.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families about disease management and treatment options.
