Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates in Chesapeake is seeking an Oncology RN to support our office on a full-time, in-person basis. The role offers a competitive benefits package, including M/D/V, Life Insurance, and a 401(k).

The RN will administer chemotherapy and related therapies, monitor patient responses, perform venipuncture, manage patient flow, and collaborate with physicians. Travel between offices may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Current RN license required.
• Current BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Administers chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician.
• Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician.
• Assesses patients for changes in condition, including abnormal labs, x-rays, scans and drug reactions; initiates appropriate action.
• Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central venous access devices.
• Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow.
• Phone triage as assigned.
• Documents all elements of care.
• Serves as a resource to the Medical Assistants.
• Communicates all pertinent information and interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider.
• Assesses patient and family needs.

Compensation Range: $31.85 - $64.75. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Administers chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician
• Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician
