Job summary

The US Oncology Network is looking for a dedicated Oncology RN to support our office in Hampton, Virginia. This full-time role involves administering chemotherapy and managing patient care with responsibilities including assessments and documentation.

Ideal candidates will have a nursing degree, current RN license, and preferably oncology experience. Our work environment entails exposure to treatment environments and a variety of patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required; BSN preferred.
• Must have current RN state license and BCLS certification.
• Oncology experience strongly preferred.

• Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills.

Overview

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, offers an opportunity for an Oncology RN to support our office in Hampton.

Employment Type: Full Time

Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k)

Compensation Range: $31.85 - $64.75. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, certifications, licensure, and skills that align with the role.

Responsibilities

• Administers chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician
• Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician
• Assesses patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans and drug reactions. Initiates appropriate action.
• Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems
• Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow
• Phone triage as assigned
• Documents all elements of care
• Serves as a resource to the Medical Assistants
• Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider
• Assesses patient and family needs

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel between offices as needed
