Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Methodist Hospital Metropolitan in San Antonio seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology PRN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within the oncology department. You will collaborate with the care team to provide compassionate care, following established nursing models, and advocate for patients and families.

Responsibilities include assessing patients at admission and shifts, administering medications, documenting care, and educating patients and families about treatment

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
• No Travel Required
• 6 months experience Required Years of Experience

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
