Job summary

University Hospital – MU Health Care is seeking a compassionate RN for nights in the Oncology department on an on-site basis in Columbia, MO. Base pay range is $34.46–$51.02 per hour, with additional differential of $4 for nights and $3 for weekends, depending on shift.

The role emphasizes pain management, patient education, and collaborative care with physicians and nursing leadership. Requirements include Missouri RN licensure or multi-state compact and at least one year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Missouri Board of Nursing RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and patient needs, including discharge planning.
• Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient’s self-reported pain and symptoms using a 0-10 scale, FACES, or FLACC.
• Educates patients and families about medications and potential side effects; reports pertinent information to the appropriate person and documents observations.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions in achieving goals and outcomes.
• Maintains nursing care standards and adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
• Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality improvement activities; adheres to attendance, punctuality, and dress code guidelines.
• Provides quality patient care and works with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure patient satisfaction.
