Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a compassionate registered nurse to join the Oncology team at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. This on-site night shift with every-other-weekend rotation offers a supportive, multidisciplinary environment focused on holistic patient care.

You will assess and address pain, educate patients and families about medications, and collaborate with physicians and nursing supervisors to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Missouri RN licensure or multi-state compact RN with residency requirements.
• At least one year of RN experience.
• Ability to assess and meet the nursing needs of patients, including discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition, set goals, and plan nursing actions including discharge planning.
• Assess, intervene, and reassess pain using a 0-10 scale, FACES, or FLACC.
• Educate patients about medications and their possible side effects.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions toward patient outcomes.
• Maintain hospital standards and policies in daily practice.
• Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality improvement activities.
• Document observations clearly and communicate with a multidisciplinary team.
